One thing is for sure -- Marvel makes some darn good origin films. Ant-Man delivers, and is officially on my top 5 favorites within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I kept a decent expectation setting going into the theater. It should still be good, even with Edgar Wright gone. I am not one that felt disappointed Wright left as director. The combination of action, comedy, and drama really worked out well for Ant-Man.

Here is a little list of my favorite bits from Ant-Man...
- The San Francisco setting is great to a local like me.
- Hank Pym's anger side is lightly explored.
- The Wasp, in all her 10 seconds of screen time, made my eyes water up.
- Michael Pena's character, Luis, stole every scene he was in.
- Falcon battling Ant-Man was a nice surprise.
- Baskin-Robbins always finds out.
- Thomas the Tank Engine appearance.
- Corey Stoll makes a great villain with Yellowjacket.
- Tiny references to the MCU never feel forced or out of place.
- Christophe Beck made an awesome theme for Ant-Man.
I've always had this weird interest in Ant-Man, mostly because Ant-Man came from Tales to Astonish. The pre-hero comics talk will be saved for another day, but Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne are very awesome. I will definitely watch Ant-Man in theaters again. Discount ticket price day, of course. It's an entertaining cinematic experience.
