Sometimes showing up at Best Buy a bit early does make an exclusive Blu-ray release worth it. It was sort of a hectic morning. Had to be two places at once. Luckily my awesome friend Jennifer came to the mall to take care the Disney Store thing (another post for that).
There was only 5 copies of the Mad Max: Fury Road steelbook on the floor. It was such a small quantity that it made the Guardians of the Galaxy release seem like a walk in the park, especially for those that showed a little after store opening. Every copy of Fury Road gone in minutes. I've been reading horror stories from folks that pre-ordered, and walked away with the regular Blu-ray version because their store didn't pull their copy beforehand. That would be a very unpleasant experience.
Getting this steelbook was a no-brainer. It's lovely artwork inside and out for one of my favorite movies of all time. I seriously mean that. It certainly holds the title for favorite action movie of all time. While most steelbooks are preferred to be without dents and scratches, something about Fury Road makes those blemishes okay. Maybe not. My copy is mint, and it's very lovely.
