Overwatch | Uprising Overview

Lovely menu with a datyime King's Row :)

There have been numerous teasers leading up to this Uprising event. Now it is finally here! At literally high noon PST, the notification of an update showed up. Overwatch: Uprising is the latest event for Overwatch that takes place in what developer Jeff Kaplan states is the “Golden Era” of Overwatch. This takes place roughly 7 years before the events of the main game. Lena Oxton aka Tracer has just joined the Overwatch team after Winston fixed her up with the Slipstream.

Accompanying the event is a new arcade mode entitled Uprising. It is based on Tracer's first mission as a part of the Overwatch team. She is in a special strikeforce dispatched to King’s Row where Null Sector omnics are wreaking havoc. Alongside Mercy, Reinhardt and Torbjorn, they fight their way through to the end in a exciting brawl against rogue omnics. In addition to this version of the game, there is a secondary version where you can play as any hero you want.

Can Blizzard sell small scale replicas of loot boxes?

The loot boxes have a really cool design with a memorable royal blue hue that resembles what Overwatch uniforms and armor looked like in this Golden Era. Boxes should be giving out at least one event item. A few we opened up so far have had 3-4 Uprising items. Pretty gracious, if you ask us. No skins yet.

Sprays resemble what most of the characters looked like in the past. There are cute ones like the event sprays for Hanzo, Genji, and Torbjorn and there are sad sprays like the one of Amelie on her wedding day before she became Widowmaker. Sprays that pair up for Junkrat and Roadhog also make a return this event. There are some sprays that are unlocked for beating Uprising multiples ways.

Perhaps the easiest Uprising spray to unlock.

Additional emotes, victory poses, voice lines, and highlight intros contribute to the 100+ new items for this event. Hanzo and Soldier: 76 have awesome emotes. D.Va has a selfie highlight intro. Hopefully the loot boxes are nice to us, and give us these non-skin items.

Only D.Va would have a highlight intro like this :)

Once again, the Overwatch team definitely delivered on the limited edition event skins. Each of the new skins represent what the characters would have looked like during this period in time. The four on the Uprising team have their Overwatch strike team skins. There are also purple Null Sector skins for two omnic heroes, Bastion and Orisa. Some surprising additions to the event include Blackwatch Genji and McCree, plus a very badass Talon Widowmaker skin. Jeff Kaplan previously teased that there would be new skins for Widowmaker and McCree, and he did not disappoint! Hanzo just needs some loving now. Many of the skins are legendary, so prepare for premium event pricing at 3,000 coins if you don't score the skins in loot boxes.

A must-have skin :)

Uprising event will go on until May 1st at 4pm PST. More info on this event can be found on the Overwatch website. Have fun! :)
