I met up with Simone Legno (tokidoki co-founder and creative director) for a signing at the Blizzard Entertainment booth during San Diego Comic Con. It was the only time I could make it out to a signing this year. He designed a Warcraft t-shirt for Blizzard that was available at SDCC, so that's why the signing was at Blizzard instead of tokidoki's booth. Simone is actually wearing the exclusive t-shirt in the photo above.
Meeting with Simone is always a nice experience. He is very personable while he draws and makes sure everyone leaves with a smile on their face. Watching him draw his family of characters over the years has been a delight, and the excitement of watching and chatting is always one for the memories. If all else fails in SDCC plans, the tokidoki plans always deliver.
Being added to the Tokidoki collection is this drawing of Hello Kittypatra, a Hello Kitty and Tokidoki collaboration. Apparently I was the only one to ask for the character during this particular signing. It's my favorite new-ish character design that I've been wanting a drawing of. So here it is! :)
